With 5 double bedrooms and one fully equiped appartment we are the ideal address for price-conscious travellers who prefer a cozy and friendly atmosphere to the anonymity of a hotel. You can also book a family home with 3 bedrooms.


Makai Lodge is situated in the calm and safe suburb Table View north-west of Cape Town.

Five minutes from the lodge you will find the world famous windsurfing spots Sunset Beach and Big Bay which are great for long beach walks and taking a refreshing swim as well.


Due to the location Makai Lodge offers all advantages of a metropolis without the hustle and bustle of a big city.

We offer 5 double bed rooms all with an own en-suite bathroom. The rooms are located in the main house and every room has a big glassy sliding door to the garden or to the pool area.

The guests of the main house will find a modern clean kitchen for self-suplying including micro wave and washing machine (subject to charges).
Besides a working room with telephone and fax is offered to the guests, also a wireless internetconnection is available.
In the wide living room our guests will find a modern TV with VCR and a fireside.

From the lounge and the living room sliding doors guide the way to the tropical pool and the sunbath area where sunbeds are available.

At the barbeque area next to the pool you can end your day with a nice south african Braai (Barbeque) and a good bottle of wine.

The fully equiped appartment has a seperate entrance, a living and dining area with an open kitchen, an own bathroom and a sleeping room with TV.

Board storage is possible in the large double garage.

The house can be reached from the airport by taxi within 30 minutes and the transport costs about 25 Euros.


We live in another second apparment that is attached to the main house. So we are always there if you have questions, problems or want to organize trips.

How to get there:

1. Airport "Exit", blue sign "Cape Town" , enter highway N2

2. after 7km exit the highway at exit "Milnerton"

3. continue driving on highway N1 in direction Milnerton

4. stay in right lane and exit right still direction "Milnerton"

5. use left lane, highway ends at traffic lights, you enter the Koeberg Road, continue driving straight, pass lots of traffic lights, always go straight on Koeberg Road

6. After around 8 km you see the Caltex refinery, on the lefthand side you will see a green sign "Table View M14"

7. Turn left into Blaauwberg Road

8. Drive straight on, after passing four traffic lights you will see a sign at the left road side that says "Rietvlei". After the sign turn left into Grey Avenue. At the first intersection turn left into Athens Road. First street on the right side is the Hutchinson Avenue. After around 200 meters before the street ends you will find the Makailodge, number 15, at the left side.
